Sometimes, after one situation that cannot be helped, another follows, and then another. There are times when I myself feel helpless, and life itself seems to offer no clear direction.
At such times, there is simply nothing to do but focus.
Imagine. Dream. Feel defeated.
Then move forward again, little by little, only as much as I can.
And then, perhaps, feel defeated once more.
Maybe life is made from that repetition.
Perhaps that is simply the basic way we live.

Ryote-dori is interesting.
Because both hands are being held, the nage cannot simply use the footwork and hand movements learned through gyakuhanmi katate-dori in exactly the same way. Those movements have to be adapted and refined.
If both hands can be handled well, however, ryote-dori creates a strong sense of connection because there are more points of contact with the partner. In that sense, the technique can sometimes feel easier to apply.
Ryote-dori is difficult, but it also seems to be an excellent way to learn what connection really feels like.
