今日から10月稽古の始まりです。とうとう肌寒い季節の到来です。秋雨が連れてきた肌寒さで道場の中は少し暑く、窓を開けると涼しい風が入る最高の季節です。私は難聴があるので、空調の音を嫌います。空調なしで過ごせる静かさのありがたさを感じます。一年に一回あるかないか、この季節。この貴重さに気づけるようになったのはこの歳になってからです。いい日は二度と来ると思ってはいけない、それがこの人生で学んだことでしょうか。
さて今日の稽古は

4逆半身片手取り呼吸投げ(小さい足捌き)
5逆半身片手取り一教表裏
6肩取り二教表裏
7肩取り三教表裏
肩取りの動きをもう一度行いました。逆半身片手取りの動きが基本となっているのですが、少しだけ相手に合わせて動く動きが必要になってきたり、四肢以外の場所の動きを意識しなければならなかったりと合気道の本質に近くなってきます。呼吸や丹田といった、四肢以外の力を使うことを少しずつ取り入れて合気道の本質に近づくことができたらいいなぁと思います。
Today marks the beginning of our October training, and the chilly season has finally arrived. The coolness brought by the autumn rain makes the dojo a little warm, but when we open the windows, a refreshing breeze flows in, making it the perfect season. Since I have hearing loss, I dislike the noise from air conditioning. I truly appreciate the silence of being able to practice without it. This season comes only once a year, if at all, and I’ve only come to realize its preciousness at my current age. Perhaps one of life’s lessons is to understand that good days should never be taken for granted.
As for today’s training:
- Aiki Taiso (Aikido exercises)
- Ashi Sabaki (footwork)
- Ukemi (falling techniques)
- Gyaku-hanmi Katate-dori Kokyu-nage (using small footwork)
- Gyaku-hanmi Katate-dori Ikkyo Omote and Ura
- Kata-dori Nikyo Omote and Ura
- Kata-dori Sankyo Omote and Ura
We reviewed the movements for Kata-dori (shoulder grab). The basic movements from Gyaku-hanmi Katate-dori serve as the foundation, but you also need to move in slight adaptation to your partner. Additionally, you must become aware of movements beyond the limbs, which brings us closer to the essence of Aikido. By gradually incorporating the use of breath (kokyu) and tanden (the center of the body), I hope we can move closer to understanding the true essence of Aikido.
