This was the first practice of the Reiwa 8 (2026) year.
With a renewed mindset, I begin training again.

At the end of the fiscal year, we also held the 40th anniversary ceremony of the prefectural federation, and our dojo has now entered its fourth year. Each of these moments is a layer built upon the last—without the first, there is no second. We can only aim higher by steadily stacking these layers one by one.

At the same time, I do not want to be bound by convention. I want to continue challenging new and unconventional ideas as I pursue improvement. This kind of challenge is necessary for evolution. There is no predetermined path. I have no interest in settling for predictable outcomes. I am willing to make every effort to encounter a new version of myself.

In Aikido, techniques change depending on the partner—their energy, their reach, their stride. What matters most is becoming one with them. It is not enough to simply execute a technique correctly. The essence lies in how you blend with your partner and what kind of technique emerges from that connection.

It is very difficult. A respectful attitude toward your partner is essential.
Aikido is difficult—that is precisely why it is so fascinating.
