今日は久しぶりに本格的な雨が降り、気温も落ちましたので、視力の悪い私はメガネは濡れるし、体は縮こまって肩は凝るしで、しっかり大きな呼吸をして、大きく体操をするととても気持ちよく感じました。私も少しずつ関節が硬くなっていることを感じますので、冬は得にしっかりとストレッチをして稽古に臨もうと思います。さて今日の稽古は

をしました。逆極め投げまでを駆け足で駆け抜けましたので、少し高度な足捌きや重心移動が多かったと思いました。すぐにできることではないので、同じ技ばかりだと少し脳が飽きてきますので、紹介程度にいろいろな技を織り込んでいこうと思っています。しかし今日しっかりやりたかったのは相半身片手取りの一教の足捌き、体捌きと受けの動きです。これから一教二教三教など技がありますが、無理やりに手を力で上げる癖をつけてしまうと体格の大きい方や力の強い方と練習した時にどうしても壁にぶつかってしまいます。転回して正しく腰の回転を使うことで相手とぶつからず一教に入れるのでとても大切な動きです。また、受けは取りが正しくない動きでも手が簡単に上がってしまう受けをしてしまうと取りの練習になりません。技を妨げようとするのではなく、技を磨くために正しく圧をかけ気を出し続ける受けを心がけなくてはいけません。相手が上手くなるように協力して正しい受けの動きをして、取りでは正しく足捌きを練習させてもらうのです。受けの協力なくして上達はありません、それは忖度した技をかかったように見せる受けとは似て非なるものなのです。その合気道の大切な概念を学ぶためにも私は一教の動きはとても好きです。どんな合気道家も自分一人では上手くなれない、そう思うのです。
Today, after a long time, we experienced a substantial rainfall, and with the temperature dropping, as someone with poor eyesight, dealing with wet glasses and a body that tends to contract, I took deep breaths and engaged in extensive exercises, which felt remarkably refreshing. I’ve been noticing that my joints are gradually becoming stiffer, so especially during the winter, I plan to approach training with thorough stretching.

We went through the reverse joint throw quickly, covering a range of advanced footwork and center of gravity movements. Since these are not things that can be mastered immediately, and practicing the same techniques can get a bit monotonous, I aim to incorporate various techniques to keep things interesting. However, what I particularly wanted to focus on today was the footwork, body movement, and receiving techniques in the first teaching of a half-body single-hand grab. While there are various techniques like the first, second, and third teachings, developing a habit of forcefully raising the hand with strength can become a hindrance when practicing with larger or stronger partners. By executing a proper pivot and utilizing the rotation of the hips, one can seamlessly enter into the first teaching without colliding with the partner. Additionally, for the receiver, performing a receiving technique where the hand easily rises even when the execution is incorrect doesn’t contribute to effective practice for the one performing the technique. It’s essential to focus on applying proper pressure and maintaining ki (energy) to aid in refining the technique. Cooperation from the receiver is crucial for improvement, and it’s about collaboratively practicing correct movements to enhance both sides. Progress doesn’t happen without the cooperation of the receiver, and it’s distinct from a compliant receiver who merely pretends to be caught in the technique. Learning this fundamental concept of Aikido is why I genuinely enjoy the movements of the first teaching. I believe that no Aikido practitioner can become proficient on their own.
